Reputation: 256  Rep Power: 7 |  Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems similar to the time when DVD's first came out and were region locked? The first DVD player that we had was a Panasonic and it was bought in the States. At that time, I wasn't even aware that it had specific regions. When we got back home, we found that we couldn't play DVD's locally 'coz Asia is region 3!!!
