The savefile.txt contains the lines

[CG-CY28346]
FSB=107.22

and is in the same folder as the ClockGen exe.
I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I am using ClockGen CG-CY28346 on a Dell Inspiron 8600 1.4GHz P-M. CG-CY28346 does on have AGP Freq controls, only FSB.
Hmm.. That's odd.

How about you try moving the ClockGen folder to C:\ClockGen\ and recreate the shortcut?

BTW, you can throw the shortcut in the Startup folder so you needn't run it yourself everytime you boot up.

Didn't work. I tried putting it in C:\Clockgen\ and also tried it in C:\applications\clockgen (same as on the clockgen website) and it gave me the same error. Has anyone been able do this successfully?

I can't check right now since my notebook can't even run ClockGen properly.

I will need to check with my brother's M30 when I see him next.

Another thing to overclock, though I think I'll stick with getting the most out of my Go5200 at the moment. Atleast mine is rated to be running at 1.5 GHz. : )

So ou gave your old M30 to your brother? How thoughtful of you. It's probably time you update your location then.

Edit: just noticed I left out a word.

Hi guys...

Very interesting Thread indeed.

First of all: Nice Guide, i appreciate it.

For all of you who want to overclock your Pentium-M and clockgen refuses to work -- there are other tools like speedfan and cpucool that just MIGHT have a PLL that fits your individual motherboard chipset setting!

I own an ASUS M6800N - and was able to overclock the FSB to 115 Mhz... thus 1.5 Ghz @ 1.725 Ghz using speedfan.

@Clockgen:
I personally distrust the program due to the false information that is so often shown:
In your Guide: the above mentioned 20.xx Mhz PCI instead of 40.xx is not actually a problem - but weird.
Even more strange is the MEMORY speed read-out you are getting.. it seems your memory is in fact - in contrast to the usual 855pm-setup- NOT running with DDR333 (166 Mhz) but with only DDR266 (133 Mhz) ??
-----
The above shown screenshot of the hardcore overclock of LOGIN shows an unbelievingly high PCI rate of 56.64 Mhz --> the laptop is supposed to be burning by now...if that were true. Same goes for the AGP value..
-----------------------------
Back to topic - the most interesting thing would have been to try out a FSB of 133 or 134 Mhz in order to get the mainboard to use THE NEXT DIVIDER. That's how it worked with the old desktop boards that did not have a fixes AGP/PCI rate -- and that supported the next divider.
That is the question for me - DOES the 855pm support another divider..so that you can use a FSB of 133... AGP and PCI are back to default (!) and the memory...yes...the memory... there could be the next problem.. --> if your memory doesnt do the 200 Mhz that would be the consequent new rate...-well....you could try it..

Greetings,
once more - good work!

Hmm.. Interesting! I will check out Speedfan and CPUCool and see if it's possible.

Yes, I was surprised to see the memory clock at 133MHz too! I will have to check my brother's M30 when it comes here next to confirm if the memory clock is really at 133MHz or it was misread by ClockGen.

The thing about ClockGen is that it is tailored for a specific clock generator. In the M30's case, it is probably using a slightly different clock generator, which is probably just partially compatible.
