Great answer, m00j!

The Celeron M is not a bad processor at all. In fact, clock-for-clock, it's still better than the Pentium 4M. Just not as fast as the Pentium M.

It's also not so great on power saving. But like m00j said it, if you are going to use the notebook to run distributed computing projects or play games all the time, then it's not going to matter much.

But if you are looking for maximum battery life while doing light work, i.e. word processing, surfing on the Internet, etc., then you should consider the Pentium M. It can help extend battery life by quite a bit, especially if you are on the go constantly.

The hardest thing I have ever had to do at my work (selling laptops) was explain to an average joe how the Celeron M, being the budget line outperforms the Pentium 4, being the high end line, at the same speed. I eventually did it, but had to bring the Celeron D into the equation (the desktop celeron, a cutdown of the pentium 4) and it caused quite a bit of confusion.

Has anyone noticed a buzzing sound from their laptop? Mine was making one from the front left corner. I sent it in to get it fixed and they replaced the motherboard but it was still happening and BenQ are apparently looking into it (they think it was a bad batch of motherboards).

Anyone else getting it?
Look forward to seeing your replies when I get back from my easter camping vacation.

Hmm.. Nope, no buzzing sound.

But I'm getting seek noises from the DVD writer everytime I type on the right side of the keyboard. It comes and goes and sometimes, the DVD writer actually pops out!

Good to hear it is not _every_ jb7k that does it. I was a bit worried because I saw this guy in one of my uni lectures with one so I asked him about it and he had it too.
