Default Maxxing The Mobility Radeon 9700 Guide Posted!

The ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 is a very powerful GPU, as we have seen in our recent review. It trashed even the NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5650! But is that the limit of its performance? We think not.

Today, Adrian takes a look at how we can maximize the Mobility Radeon 9700's performance by overclocking! Let's see if we can turn the Mobility Radeon 9700 into a badder card than it already is!

Default dell with 9700

read the hell you went through with your laptop, I had a much better time with the dell 9100 I ordered, I was able to get one for $850 around xmas, 3.0 w/HT and 9700 card, very pleased with it, overclocked the 9700 using powerstrip, base numbers where the same as yours, but I was able to overclock to 550/340, aquamark3 #'s went from +-25000 to +-32500, and 3dmark2001se went from +- 11200 to 14100, the other spec's are 40gig hd,wireless card,512 mem. and dvd/rw,
at the time you could of ordered this same book w/3.4 and the 9800 card, so far overheating has not been a problem.

thanks for the site and keep up the good work.

yank.

Wow.. That's a really nice overclock!

Yeah, overheating isn't a problem even when I overclock my MR 9700.

Talking Apple Powerbook

I know the guide was for Windows users, but I have clocked the mobility Radeon 9700 on my Powerbook. It was originally 390mhz core, now 513mhz - 31% increase. The RAM is increased by 20% to 243mhz
