Hi guys
Give this a look, it's great.
Just a note of warning though; remember this is a beta.
It hasn't got a full compliment of drivers yet and most programs that are written for xp will not run or will be corrupt even in xp compatability mode.
So when you install it you must put it on a partition, mine is 15gb.
On installation it will ask if you want to over write your current version, don't do this as you can't get xp back.
You will, I beleive enjoy this. It is a huge improvment over previous versions of windows. I love the new gui
Make sure you try windows key+tab

Umm.. seriously guys, (this has nothing to do with the article or vista) do something about the navigation to the next page of the articles..

I don't usually read articles so I'm not too familiar with the navigation system, and it took me a while to realize that the link at the bottom was *not* part of the advertisement..

Perhaps you could reposition it, for usability's sake, if anything else

On a Compaq Evo n800w with the following specs:
- 2.2 Ghz P4 Mobile
- 1Ghz ram
- 80Gb 5400 RPM disk

From the time I popped in the DVD to the harddisk stopped spinning after the first login takes about 55 minutes.

No Aero though, mine's a FireGL card.

Hmm.. pity too the windowing hasnt been double buffered yet.

Okay, will do, Jinny.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Wow... 55 minutes is fast! Too bad you can't try Aero Glass out but apart from that, everything else should be the same. Perhaps you could share some of your experience using Vista with us here?
