IMHO, AMD has been ahead of Intel on desktop cores for years now on both the price / performance and performance / watt landscape. Now that Intel has FINALLY, after 3 to 5 years, turned the tables on the performance / watt advantage they want us to focus on that, after years of denial. But what really gets me is to call AMD "the big green monster". This big green monster is a company that as 1/5th to 1/15th the size of Intel Corp. "Big Green Monster"... LOL. Perhaps they might be better called "the little stinging ant" (fire ant for those of you in southern US and Central America). So while I may end up owning a Core Duo once they are a bit more mainstream (not that diehard of an AMD fan  I find this moniker rather funny. ... Then again, maybe I'll wait for the next gen AMD architecture quad core for my next desktop. |
