If you have been waiting for Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista, well, you can now mark your calender. We just received word that Microsoft has scheduled Windows Vista Service Pack 1 for release to manufacturer (RTM) NEXT WEEK! Link : ED#77 : Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Out Next Week!
So were is it? Well here we are, Februari 4. I don't see anything in my WU list, neither on microsoft.com
You may not see anything today. From what our source tells us, this is the date Microsoft is going to release Service Pack 1 to manufacturing. It doesn't necessarily mean they are releasing it to the public. Of course, we are hoping they will... but they may not. For all we know, it's just officially RTM today and shipped to OEMs through the week with a public release when wave 1 (with full language support) is ready.
Well, what do you know. It's out! Microsoft just RTM'ed Service Pack 1! Just updated the editorial with the details.
There's no download link. It's just RTM, meaning released to manufacturing. Microsoft will churn out the DVDs or media and send it to OEMs. Or OEMs can download it later this week. Public release will be in March.
Just RTM. Not for public yet. But I guess you should be able to find elsewhere to download, maybe from torrent.
Yep, it released about a month ago I think. Download details: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Five Language Standalone (KB936330) It hasn't given me any problem yet. The OS feels much more responsive when you do file copying though. That's a real plus for me
