ED#78 : NVIDIA Is Really Buying AGEIA!

Back in April 2006, we made a shocking announcement that NVIDIA bought over AGEIA. Of course, it was only a joke, with a "belligerent" NVIDIA belting out gungho statements about wiping ATI and Canada off the map.

However, that joke was based on a real possible scenario, and it is one that many people feel was inevitable. Today, that possibility became a reality. Here's our take on NVIDIA's acquisition of AGEIA and what it means for us.

Here's a quote from the editorial :-

Nvidia is probably going to give a big boost to physics. Looks like more bad news for amd/ati.

I'm all for integrating it on GPU but I honestly couldn't care less for an add on card.

I foresee them adding a physics core into future GPUs, to differentiate themselves from ATI.

It's possible they may integrate a PhysX chip into upcoming high-end models as a kind of value-added feature though.
