Default x264 HD Benchmark

The x264 HD Benchmark is the “High Definition version” of the x264 Benchmark which has become a standard CPU benchmark for Tech ARP as well as many other hardware enthusiasts.

The new x264 HD Benchmark ups the ante by using a new 720p24 high-definition video clip. Therefore, it will be a great test of the processor’s ability to encode HD quality video streams. Give it a try and let us know how your processor fares!

Here's a quote from the article :-
Quote:
"Simply put, it is a reproducible measure of fast your machine can encode a short, HD-quality video clip into a high quality x264 video file. It's nice because everyone running it will use the same video clip and software. The video encoder (x264.exe) reports a fairly accurate internal benchmark (in frames per second) for each pass of the video encode and it also uses multi-core processors very efficiently."

Cool stuff I am still awaiting my viddy card for the new system and will run both X264 tests stock and O/C Dashken. I tell everyone about this as I feel it is one of the only true CPU benchmarking tests out there Cheers Graysky

Cool man, judging by your results, they must be for the HD benchmark, no? I would think that system would give much higher values for the SD benchmark.

Can a mod please move his reply to the HD benchmark section to avoid confusion?

Thanks and thanks for the results!
