Default Western Digital 320 GB Scorpio Notebook Hard Drive Review

Many of us have probably wondered why Western Digital never came out with a 7200 RPM notebook hard drive. Well, they didn't need to.

Their Scorpio family of 2.5" hard drives may run at "only" 5400 RPM but they are actually fast enough to rival desktop hard drives running at 7200 RPM! Unbelievable?

Here's a quote from the review :-
Quote:
"Like all new hard drives , the Scorpio is certainly making use of perpendicular magnetic recording (PRM) technology to achieve its remarkable performance. Of course, there's only so much they can do with perpendicular recording technology. The 320 GB Scorpio needs to use at least two platters to attain its remarkable storage capacity of 320 GB."

PCB so called burned marks are not burn marked but silver tarnish or discolour due to PB-free process. Pure cosmetic defect and does not effect on performance. It is common on PCB process..
