I am not sure about what version G80 8800 Ultra or Quadro FX 4600/5600 uses though.

However, based on an online test report(8800GTS locked mem-controller, ideas and unsuccesful practice - XtremeSystems Forums), one of the six 64-bit memory controller channels of 8800GTS 320MB/640MB is blocked by nVidia. The tester can not recover the missing channel to emulate an original 384-bit memory bus Quadro FX 4600. Yet, emulating a Quadro FX 4600 640MB edition is claimed achievable. He did not get a chance to replace G80-100-K0-A2 with G80-300 on the 8800 GTS card to see how close he can emulate an FX 4600. BTW, many 8800 GTS 320MB OC edition cards are loaded with 1.1ns DDR3. If his firmmod by flashing original Quadro FX 4600 BIOS is no fluke, then isn't it an easier way for GeForce to emulate Quadro?!

Not sure what G80-200, G80-400 and G80-600 refers to though...

But of course... 8800 GTX > 8800 GTS 640MB > 8800 GTS 320MB.

I have few Questions....
1. Does this make a difference in Autocad?
2. I recently purchased Dell XPS M1530 laptop with 8600M GT...Can this driver hack be applied to mobile GPUs like 8600MGT?
3. Does this work with Windows Vista?

2. Theoretically should not be a problem if the Rivatuner supports it.

No. My point is that if we had any AutoCAD results, we would have posted them in the guide.

At this moment, there is none, so no one can tell you if it makes any difference in AutoCAD. Hopefully, someone (maybe you) can test and let us know.

Sorry I´m abit noob.

I read the guide but it sadly couldn´t help me.
I´m trying to softmod my Geforce GTX 260 to a Quadro. So I´ll be able to run Avid Media Composer 3.0.

But sadly I can´t compare it to a Quadro because it´s not there. My GPU is GT200 and the Device ID is 10DE - 05E2.

Also when I run RivaTuner and click the button next to customize, click low-level system settings, I don´t have the tab NVstrap.

What do I do?
Is it even possible to soft-mod?

Can anybody please help me.

AFAIK, there's no comparable Quadro for the GTX 260 at this moment. So no, you can't mod your card yet. Maybe in the future when NVIDIA releases a GT200-based Quadro.

Hi everone, I can see some great information in this thread, thank you all. I am very eager to softmod my 8800gts 320mb to a quadro4600 and see the results for myself but I just need to know one thing:
If i'm not overall satisfied with the results I get,can I go back to the original 8800gts ? Like,maybe by identifying the card as a 8800gts again in RivaTuner and then installing the geforce drivers?

Please if anyone knows anything about this i'll be glad to hear.

Yes, it's a softmod, so it's very easy to revert.
