Default ED#99 : Intel Brands The Nehalem!

After years of using the codename Nehalem, the new-generation Intel processor finally has an official name - the Intel Core i7 processor! Like previous Intel Core processors, the new processor family will also feature Extreme Edition versions of the processor.

Is the rest/future of the lineup going to be core ix (x as a number)?
I really like the codename, Nehalem.

Yeah, looks like that's the new trend. If you ask me, I would have very much preferred something like Core 3...

Since the greater majority of people assosiate core2 with having 2 cores (yea I know it's stupid), they had to come up with something other than core3. Well core i8 would have at least have some meaning (8 threads).

WHere's the 7 coming from?

And where's the 'i' coming from too?

Maybe the '7' means that 0-7, which means total of '8', since I heard that they use HT (4x2?)
