Some reviews have mentioned that the speed of the drive is suffered slightly due to the Highpoint controller, especially the burst speed and certain write actions.
Hmm.. There's no way to know unless they tested another HDD (2 TB or less) using the HighPoint controller and the standard Intel controller. I think I will test this out when I get back. Then again, this is only of academic interest because this is the only way (currently) to run the 3 TB hard disk drives. It's not like you can hook it up to an Intel controller and benefit from the speed boost. Well, you can but you will just lose access to the last 900 GB of storage...
