My advice to you, there's no point waiting. You have to wait for the same amount of time as how you waited for this iPad. If you want it, just get it now.
If you are going to the US sometime after April, 2011, then maybe you should consider waiting for iPad 2. Otherwise, there's no point to wait. iPad 2 will probably arrive in Malaysia at the end of 2011 - one year from now.
There's actually a jailbreak for iOS 4.2 but it's a tethered jailbreak which means you must connect it to the computer whenever you reboot. I would wait for the unthethered jailbreak. It should be coming along pretty soon.
