OK, I just happened to have AquaMark3 on my machine so here is a before and after:

Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB
Score = 44197
(CPU = 9993 GFX = 5673)

FireGL X2 256
Score = 44091
(CPU = 9962 GFX = 5688)

Little difference, very little.

Sure, FireGL X2 will always perform better in those softwares compared to 9800Pro

It won't destroy your card even if the you card fails to work after you flashed the FireGL X2 bios to it. here is how you save your card http://www.rojakpot.com/showarticle....105&pgno=9

Looks like this guy's statement is correct

By the way evstar, this does not affect gaming capabilities in any way. Games will still use your video cards Direct X 9.0 (maybe in your case capabilities. The hack lets you use more professional data "use", for lack of a better word.

Er.....do you mean that the driver installation process stops when it is installing the control panel? Sounds like the driver is corrupted.

Try re-download the FireGL X2 driver again at ATI's website.

thx Max_87, i already read the rescue-information but i think i should get an old pci-card for the worst case... maybe i will try it without it

also thy @BRB
it seems don't influence the gaming-performance, this is very fine.

but has somebody tested the performance-difference with 3d-software ?

last question, who knows which hidden features the BIOS switches on ?

THX

This is so rediculous your card is already identified as FireGL X2

I downloaded the 1 package driver and it works perfectly on my card

@ Max_87

with hidden features i mean this 3d-software optimizations

i would like to know what the 9800 is better able to do with the new BIOS.
i hope you know what i mean because i can not imagine that a 9800 is a real FireGL and that there are no core- or architecture-differences.

make me believe
