I didnt have much luck with the memory - it was already at 2.7 I think I may have managed to get 2.72 or something lame like that. There really isnt enough room on the side of the chip for a decent amount of graphite.

The gpu however I took from 1.65 to 1.78. A handy improvement that got me from 460 to 475mhz. Still fine tuning it but either way I'm nearly 100mhz over stock.

It didnt make a massive improvement to 3dmark 2001 (16780) and I havent tried 2003 yet (takes forever)

Still it's not bad for a failed 9800pro.
Well, it depends on what numbers differ. What's most important is the chip model number. Many of the other numbers are for internal use, like batch and production numbers, revision, etc.

If you do not see a boost in memory voltage, try erasing the pencil marks and trying again. Don't put so much graphite in the first place and ensure the pencil marks extend to the pins.

Default undervolting 9800 Pro

Hi

(sorry for digging up old threads)
I just found this article about voltage modifications on the 9800 Pro.

I would be interested in the other direction: undervolting the 9800 Pro.

@Max_87:
Would you have an idea for a similar wiring to enable undervolting only?

Hmm.. Why not add a case fan to exhaust the hot air?
