3 March 2015 – With the number of mobile devices, including phones and tablets, rising from 7.7 billion in 2014 to more than 12.1 billion by 2018, users must be prepared for both platform and app vulnerabilities to help keep corporate and personal data safe. As mobile adoption surges, Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global leader in security software, reaffirmed today at Mobile World Congress (MWC) its continued commitment to providing enterprises and consumers alike with user-friendly security offerings designed to combat today’s next-generation, sophisticated attacks.

“There is much more to the ‘Internet of Things’ than just smart home devices,” said Eva Chen, Trend Micro CEO. “While connected devices offer efficiencies and convenience, they are becoming increasingly vulnerable to attacks, and mobile devices are among the most targeted platforms. As mobile continues to become a mainstream vehicle for accessing corporate data, businesses must be able to mitigate the unparalleled range of cyber attacks that are constantly victimizing enterprises and individuals.”
