http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=424&pgno=6 Oh dear. http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/?p=567 http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/?p=569 http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/?p=570 In summary AMD has published estimated/simulated/extrapolated benches to win. Intel could estimate a 5GHz Penryn performance too This late in the game, and they are still using outdated benches (for Intel)? They don't seem to be able to turn out 2.6GHz anytime soon. Therefore, these benches are FUD. George Ou spanked them not too long ago and here they go again (it seems from the way this is written)
Hmm... lmao. Shooting one's self in the foot... Simulated benchmarks. I guess all they achieved is a 'simulated' perception that it could potentially suck (suprise suprise). It's only gonna get harder for AMD unfortunately (especially with Intels 2 year cycles now).

But then he'll have to skip all the overclocking 'shiokness' for 2-3 months. I'm still not satisfied with the E6600 overclocking. @3.2Ghz, still doesn't seem to be stable to me, even after 24 hours of Orthos.
Anyway, coming back to topic... I've just been in contact with AMD representatives over the issue. Apparently, they accidentally handed us these results which were supposed to have been canned earlier. They promised to get us updated results ASAP. I hope it's REALLY soon as the Opteron processors are going to be launched next month. It's really odd that they don't already have a processor to test yet. If not a 2.6GHz Opteron, then at least the 2GHz Opteron which is the one they are supposed to be launching next month.
They'll probably retract their statements and say, ooops we meant a small core revision of our K8 opterons....lol. AMD keep delivery dates, how people joke these days
