ON ARP...

Member since:
May 2003.

Discovered it through?
Looking for BIOS help using Google

Most frequently visit? (i.e. BOG, which forum, news, reviews, etc)
I frequent all, but mobile devices. I HATE CELL PHONES!

Fondest memory/Best thing about ARP?
Several things about ARP I really enjoy:
-FREE PC & tech advice for all levels of experience.
-International and multicultural feel of forums.

Person you would most like to meet from the community?
(whom you've not met!)

I would really like to join everyone at an ARP barbecue!
Trin, are you ready for 20+ hour plane ride?

One thing you'd like to see on the site?
An indepth test using the whole array of BIOS settings and how each effects on system stability/performance.

LIFE AS A BIG PICTURE...

What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?
I usually analyze activies for the day and then try and balance work load and funtime.

Having a list an busy days really helps.

If I had a lot of money, I would...
Hmmmmm, organize an ARP party and provide everyone transportation and lodging to eat some of Trin's pizza!

If I had the time, I would...
Use my camera more often, seems like time is going faster and faster!

What inspires you?
My wife, my parents, and the vastness of our universe.

Lifetime goals?
Retire and still be young enough to do all the things I am too busy to do now!

Here are some additional questions :-

1. Can we have a picture of you and your family?

from left to right, me, wife (Paula) and step-son Jake.

2. Can you tell us about your family?
Met my future wife in 1994, My sister, whom I was living with while finishing my 2nd Uni degree suggested
that I go to get a haircut from this girl. We dated for 5½ years, we married in September 1999,
and last January we bought the salon building where I met her over 10 years ago.

3. Do you have a pet? Please tell us about your pet(s).
My heart is into saltwater aquariums, but due to busy schedule, I had to give it up.
We had a dog, but it ran away (didn't like to stay outside in backyard)
Now, I only have a guinea pig. His name is Felix.

4. Where do you intend to go for your NEXT holiday?
The next series of journeys will probably be to several larger cities in the US. About 6 years ago
we started going to major league baseball stadiums in USA and Canada. Of the 30 ballparks, we only have 7 left.
Denver, Kansas City, Seattle, Baltimore, Philly, Washington and Boston.
If it's just the wife and I, we go to someplace remote in the mountains.

5. When did you start stargazing?
I started as a kid (maybe 8-10 years old). Just looking up at the night sky thinking...
WOW! We are just a tiny rock floating through space and there is soooo much other stuff out there.
My father bought my first telescope (60mm refractor) when I was 15 or 16.

6. What initiated your interest in stargazing?
I really got serious about it after my first year in college.
A professor in Physics 101, would allow students to borrow his 20cm scope over weekends.
In 1990, after many years of saving $$$, I bought the scope I still use today (25.4cm reflector).
At the time I paid about $1100 USD for it.
Of course now I want a bigger scope, but they get really expensive larger than 25cm.

7. How often do you stargaze?
Without telescope... 2-3 times/week . With telescope... 10-20 times per year, usually a weekend at a time.

8. What does stargazing mean to you?
Relax, relax and sleep in really late the next day....
Actually, I get to spend alot of time with my father this way. He enjoys it almost as much as I do.
I guess I am pretty crazy about it, after all, I had to buy a DSLR to share pictures with ARP!

9. What is your favorite constellation?
That is a tough one.... I like Orion during the winter, Saggitarius for summer time,
basically anything that is full of suprises and deep sky objects.

10. What does CS5 really mean to you?
This is odd... When I first met CS5 in the forums I tried hard to help him out with answering questions.
He has become known in the forums as a, well... CS5!
I think he likes to be thought of as the "William Hung" of the forums.

Who are you going to interview?
As much as I would like to interview CS5 I think I would rather interview someone like PsYkHoTiK or Falcone.
If someone will volunteer to translate all that jibberish I will interview CS5.

Sweet home Alabama...where the skies are so blue...

Anyway, I've been saying that if someone is willing to interview CS5 then I'll do the translation.

PaperCut, I really don't think that the ARP community is ready for a CS5 interview. Did you see the POLL I posted in the lounge? Not may people had cared enough to vote. I think there was only around 20 or so. I really had someone else in mind if I ever had the chance, now if I could just remember who that was...

Typically, I've encountered numerous life time goals that involves attaining superior financial stability but after the interview with Ishtim, I've learned to look at the world from a different perspective.

Kudos to Trinity for the extremely good interview and Ishtim for being kind enough to let us in on the minor details of his personal life. Cheerz! (Me Hides @ A Corner And Think)

Woah!! That was a superb interview!

Many thanks for making us part of your "extended" family, Ishtim.

It's really good to be able to get to know you and your family better.

Ahh.. Here is one question we missed, I think.

Why do you call yourself "Ishtim"?

Also, what do your parents do? Were you originally from Huntsville, Alabama?
