Hello everyone. I was browsing craigslist last week and found a 7900GTX video card for $20. Got it installed it Played. Well tonight I was on craigslist again and found a 7600GT that the person wanted to trade for some DDR2 ram. Just so happens that I had 2 GB laying around. I offered and they accepted. When I got there they told me that they actually had 2 cards and gave me both of them. Well Now i would really like to know. Should I run the 7600's in sli or the single 7900? what would be better? the 7900GTX has 512MB of ram and the 7600GT has half that 256MB so this is a toss up.

The GeForce 7900 GTX is much faster than two GeForce 7600 GTs in SLI.

Do remember that graphics cards linked in SLI or CrossFire mode suffer from some inefficiencies. So two GeForce 7600 GTs will NOT give you 2X the performance of one card. You would be lucky to get 60% better performance.

A single fast card would also generally use less power and produce less heat than two slower cards in SLI or CrossFire.

Grab the 7900GTX - it could beat up those 7600GT in SLi mode. If you already have the 7600GT, keep it for another PC or something else, maybe a backup GFX card. :thumb:
