I have a K8N Neo2 board with 3500+ 64bit chip 2 gigs of Pc3200 ram and a ATI 9800XT video card I was thinking about getting the X850XT or getting a new Mboard with SLI and get a Gforce card but lower end. because of getting a Mboard as well. I am not really sure of the best route to go. I know if I get MB and card it might be less in the long run. But I love my FPS games and LOVE KILLER Graphics......
u already have a good enough setup to last u for quite sometime. no reason to get another high end card or SLi at this point in time (unless you got the bucks to spare and nothing better to spend it on) because i'm sure u can play just about any new games now with very decent FPS. my suggestion, wait till u hit a game where the graphics and FPS just don't cut it for you, then think about upgrading. probably the price for what you want now is so much more affortable then.
