Hey guys, anyone using this graphic card or the 7800 series?

When my monitor goes to sleep, I occasionally have trouble waking it up again. I have to reset the computer. :|

    ULPS / ZeroCore issue. :wall:

Disabled it and so far no "sleep of death"

But Zero Core is such a good feature...

Had to ask.. latest driver? If so, have you tried an older one?

Using Catalyst 12.4, haven't tried older drivers yet.

Give it a try and see if it helps.

AMD always have problem with new cards with new drivers. They make good cards, but drivers are not as great as Nvidia. But I still prefer AMD... At least some cards are very moddable, and I bought many of those moddable ones... :haha:

Oh, wait, I forgot to say I fixed the issue by disabling ULPS. But I do not know how much power saving you'll get form ULPS though.

But ULPS is only for Crossfire setup, right?

    No idea, ask AMD.

Disabling ULPS helped, no more "sleep of death".

So you still can utilise the ZeroCore. I wish my 6950 supports that...

Possible. I probably have to run a test without the graphic card and use a kilowatt meter.

Just have to test with normal idle and monitor standby. Should see some difference, about 10W.

I should turn off my speakers, they take like 10W

That's what I normally do too. Turn off my amplifier when not in used.
