We all know that monochrome = insta-art. So let's post black and white pictars so that we may relive the days of Ilford Delta, T-Max and Tri-X from Kodak. Plus i feel that Black and White retain stories and backgrounds better because they lack the distracting colors of color photos, letting the viewer concentrate on the moment at hand. Above all, shooting BW makes you more sophisticated and classier leh. You dun believe. Try it lah. Anyways here's some pics to get the ball rolling. Haven't posted some of these anywhere else and some are re-edited, so i'd appreciate the critique.
You are right! So much classier. Hmm.. Lemme go dig up what I have. Did you take these directly in black and white... or did you use desaturate in Photoshop?
Camera doesn't have Monochrome feature in RAW so i have to use Lightroom's BW feature and then tweak it. Now interested in a Voigtlander Bessa coupled with T-Max 400, but see how lah.
Sweet pics I have always loved the classic effect of black and white .. for some of us we had black and white televisions as kids lol
Just got back from the Bunya Mountains and Danabah National Park. Will post more in a few days, staying here for 3 hours before i run off to the Goldcost and then Brissy.
Back with pics of the Gold Coast, shot with a manual Leica Summicron. It isn't supersharp, but it allows for me to accurately prefocus and unlike my Canon Ls, the Infinity doesn't "run" when it's cold. I shoot by Cartier's adage that "sharpess is a bourgeouis value". So mind the lack of sharpness and focus
Moar Pics Lol here are 2 color ones for fun. First one i've given a technicolor 60's look to emphasize a time where kids actually went out and had fun with their folks. Second one is a kid on a green light....yeah that pretty much sums it up.
Going to the Sunshine Coast and then on to Fraser Island and Harvey Bay. Will be back with more pics lol.
Hmm.. Black and white does really change how you look at things. It kinda takes away the distraction of colour... Nice work, empire23!!
Back lol. After 6 days of roadtripping! Here's 2 shots of Bunya, haven't gotten the Forest Shots done yet, but will post em up laters. Nature is hard to get to look good with BW because it's better portrayed with color, so here's some kids instead.
