hi guys first post i was wondering if anyone has clocked this processor past 3.0ghz and if so
what voltage? what fsb? what multiplyer? and what cooling?

I don't think so. 2.5GHz is the max I can recall.

Hm... I had seen quite a number of desktop bartons hitting 2.6GHz. There are some doing 2.7-2.8GHz.... but you can rarely see this. 3GHz needs extreme cooling. If your barton is multiplier locked, then the chances of getting over 2.6GHz is even smaller, because you need at least 250~260FSB to hit 2.7-2.8GHz, which is AFAIK the absolute maximum FSB for nForce2 Ultra400 even with voltage modding.

If I remember correctly bartons maxxes out at ~3.4GHz range with extreme cooling. Can't remember whether it's the desktop or the mobile version.

I have seen reports of people getting up to 3GHz with certain steppings of that chip, though I'm not sure if it was an XP2500+ or XP2600+. However, one thing is for sure, it wasn't done using air cooling :naughty:

Best I ever got my 2500, 2500 DTR, 2600 or 2800 DTR was about 2.3GHz on air with constant 24/7 100% CPU loads.

Over the long haul my Barton 2500 (a 'normal' one and a DTR) crunch numbers 24/7/365 on air at 2.18~2.22GHz with the CPU at a constant 100% load.

Will go higher if not subject to 100% CPU 24/7.
