Here's the press release from FIC :-

"A major press conference was held at the new FIC head office here in Taiwan and the media are already saying great things about it. The launch was timed to coincide with the release of Microsoft's WindowsR XP Tablet PC edition operating system.

The Tablet PC is a new concept in portable computing technology and is destined to change the way people work. Because there is no need for a keyboard or mouse, a Tablet PC is much more practical than a conventional laptop and can be used just about anywhere. Advanced Ink technology allows users to make notes or write e-mail using their own handwriting straight on the screen.

FIC is one of the few manufacturers producing a 1GHz Tablet PC model and the competitive price is likely to make it extremely popular. Already FIC has customers in medical and education fields.

A particularly neat feature of the FIC SlateVision Tablet PC is the 6 cell, 3600mAH, lithium ion battery. Under normal conditions the battery life of the SlateVision Tablet PC can be up to 4 hours. Even when using power intensive functions like the on-board wireless LAN, the battery life can be as much as 3 hours. The battery takes 2.5 - 3 hours to charge."
