Looks like I will be going to Siem Reap, Cambodia for 5 days, 4 nights in early March. Yeah, that's where Angkor Wat is. Has anyone been there? Any recommendations on hotel, transportation, food, etc.? :mgreen:
remember to kiss the wall of Angkor Wat it's not gonna be there forever. heard it will be gone in the near future???
why not get a copy of Lonely Planet? anyway I'm going to Phnom Penh in May, backpacking trip for 3 days 2 nights. I've been advised to watch out for water (only drink bottled water!), malaria, and avoid certain areas at night.
Doraemon:me ex-chinese drum player for 3 years. Used to carry them on my shoulder. backpacking shouldn't be a problem. Adrian: you can book cheap hostels at AirAsia's website. Some goes as low as below RM10 per night. Also I heard the food is more or less like Thai style. I got my tickets during the AirAsia free ticket promotion. Costs me another RM134 for airports taxes and stuff.
My brother has been looking for a copy for ages. It appeared that they were all sold out. Copies may come in about 2 weeks later, I think.
Do note that they only accept US dollars over there. Be sure to get SMALL US notes. If you give them a large note, they will give you their worthless riels in return.
