Well, BD for me is a matter of cost. You do not actually need BD to play full HD videos. There's always the WD TV!
Hmm.. Only if they made the n00bie mistake of using component/composite cables to connect to the TV, instead of a HDMI cable!
Yeah, 1080i, but the resolution is still 1920 x 1080 pixels. Plus, there's plenty of HD content now. You do not even need the WD TV. Can always hook a HTPC to it.
ROFL~! im not nitpicking but 1.85:1 & 16:9 are never mix together~! 1.85:1 fit in 16:9 nicely?? LOL~! if it does it was stretch by the tv feature or crop off on the sides~! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspect_ratio_(image)
Yeah right that's not nitpicking, really Of course the 16.65:9 video will be stretched slightly in order to fit 16:9 displays but can you really notice that? Link doesn't work btw
Aspect ratio (image) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Correct link I think you should go read it yourself and see how small the difference is between 1.85:1 and 16:9.
Speaking of aspect ratios... do you guys actually STRETCH to fit the screen, or leave it at the actual aspect ratio? Just curious.
Most TV's dun auto-stretch very well, and you will get used to it, and it's a pain to keep switching different ratios.
My brother has a 42" sony brava(spel?) lcd. And I have to say who need more??? @720 i or p not sure, It looks fantastic. He's got blue ray and hd dvd. The thing that would put me off of plasma is that image burn in is possible. And very quickly if you run up your settings real 'hot'.
They say that plasma is superior in at least one aspect - total blackness. My brother says it makes a big difference if you enjoy watching movies in the dark.
