My computer is not turning on by the power button. only way it goes on i have to pop the battery out and replace it. then it comes up with an error screen and goes off in about 15 secs. i've tried a hard reset with no luck. if someone has heard of this happening before and may know the problem, please help! Did you use the correct charger for it? It may sound like a stupid question but I just went on a trip with two Dell laptops and swapped their chargers. When I booted up, I got an error message saying that the notebook cannot detect the charger and that it may not be able to charge the battery. Also, check the charger's status light. Usually, the charger has a small light to tell you if it's functioning properly. And yes, the error message you saw would be very helpful.
