Looking for information on transistor count trends in processors

  1. Hi there, i am researching trends on transistor counts in microprocessors. I have data up through 2010, most of which were Intel chips. I found this graphic:
    " Graphic on chips "

on the TECHARP site. Does anybody know the source of that data? I need a solid source before I can quote any data. But the chart looks good!

Also it looks like the transistor count for every chip after 2014 says NA. Did they stop reporting that spec? Is there no longer a way to track the transistor count? Seems like a big loss of transparency to me.

    Thanks!

That's because Intel never announced or revealed the transistor count of the Broadwell and Skylake processors.

No, there's no way for us to know for sure how many transistors are in those CPUs. At least not right now.
