I wonder does anyone know if do most hdd has temperature sensors? For some reason, my new WD 6400AAKS hdd does not have 1..I tried using the new Everest Ultimate and HD tune and both does not even show me the temperature of the HDD. Any ideas guys/girls

It's enable already..or rather on Auto..Should i put it on Enable? Cause at the bios when i start up it's says smart enable and ok.

If it shows SMART on bootup as enabled it should be but I would force it enabled anyway.

    Try CPUID Hardware Monitor

all hdds have thermal sensor on it no mather dose SMART works or not
and they all need to show temps use Everest to read temps
anyway if hard cant read temps it would push speed to max all the time until it dies and that would be well too soon

hmm.. .WD drives does come with Thermal Management and does support SMART HDA temperature Attribute.

Lacus, pass me your email address, I'll give you the software to check for temperature.

Err hmm .. i dont work that well with Vista, that the main reason my XPS is in XP pro. Still wan the software?

I know that some motherboard somehow do make some software do not see the drive direct so can't get the drive attribute. I face this before with IBM motherboard

Ooh, can someone actually verify whether the temp reading is based on Mobo's sensor reading thingie?
