    Well, its been pretty much ascertained that AC97 is outdated.

    Outdated, yes. Useless, no. It depends on what the person wants their sound to do. A lot of people only want stereo sound with a clean signal and then get a mid-level 2.1 or 2.0 speaker system. If it's going to be used, why eliminate it?

    I never said its useless. If people want better sound, they should go for SB Live. The difference is definitely there.

    i dont think they are using the sb live emu chip on it
    i think is more like a creative 128 chip inside that sb 512

    Oh. Well, I hear that with the exception of 5.1 sound, they have the same quality. But if not, I will call back my statement.

    if me... thoug i have AI7 mobo with optical soundcard...i still use my SB live! SE soundcard... i can diffrenciate that is sound more crips.. n donno how to say..its diffrent n yet.. nice... can use both card at same time also..but better use SB.

    i'm using an AI7 .. :shifty: i dun have a PCI sound card :(

    SB live give some advantage to Game but bugged driver. onboards now are good but not for gaming. it's slow down FPS.
