  1. (Hi American Zombie, I recognise you from the A7V880 resource thread :) )

I've actually emailed ASUS about this option and their reply was:

"The memory cells of a DDR SDRAM store the data information in small capacitors that lose their charge over time and must be recharged. This process is called refresh (REF). To be useful, a DDR SDRAM must read and write data. In order to complete this task, a row must first be selected using an ACTIVATE (ACT) command, along with a bank and row address.

The setting you refer to is the timing between performing the above operations, and yes faster is lower, but this setting is best left to default values."

This doesn't particularly help me decide if there's any way of working out which might give the best stable performance according to the other settings or current memory used, etc, so if this could be expanded upon at all in a future guide update, that would be fantastic... :D

The Memclock Mode is not really worth talking. Because this is a model specific option.

Auto - The motherboard detects the best memory option for your system.
Limit - Override using Manual settings.

thanks, i was wondering if setting to auto will run the memory at ddr400. i heard some issues where the bios reduces it due to compatibility issues. and i cant find a dimm id prog that supports the via chipset.

Use CPU-Z. ;) But it will not report half multipliers accurately.
