Yep. Started playing as soon as my copy was unlocked, which was about 5pm. Some screenshots for you guys to feast your eyes on. No real big spoilers, but I'm leaving a big gap just in case...so if you don't want to know anything about the game, leave now

First pic is the HEV suit. It's come such a long way from HL1, both in terms of the story and the graphics.

Second pic - haha yes these guys are back, but you're not supposed to shoot them anymore. This one actually recharges your HEV suit.

Thrid pic - DX9 water effects :thumb:

Why does it look as if there's no AA ? how's the water dynamics ? does it splash well ? is it me or does the person's face in the second pic look a bit painted ?

Saw some early screenshots from the "stolen code".. the figures looked much better there.

Ha? I cannot shoot them anymore? Aww... :(

    Even for fun? :shifty: :haha:

Yeah it looks better with AA on, but I'd rather compromise a bit on image quality for better frame rates. The faces still don't look 100% realistic, but there is a lot of detail put into them; facial expressions can change and the synchronisation between the lips and the speech is better than any other game I've played so far.

Adrian - when you aim your crosshair at a 'friendly', the gun automatically lowers itself. I assume this means that shooting them becomes impossible...

Does the water splash if you shoot it or jump into it ?

    Yes it does.

    Best...game...ever...

Screenshots that follow have no AA or AF due to get better FPS.

Edited by Ishtim.... too many 404's..... ;)

Cool.. I wanna see the splash effect. Not a lot of games get it right. Or fabric tearing either. What're you spex ? what do you think you need to play this thing with AA/AF on ?

Splash effect is quite common, it's nothing new. Unless you are talking about rendering each water droplet of the splash!

I think you need X800 or 6800 class to enable AA/AF with acceptable frame rates.
