Hi Everyone, This is my first post in the forum, so forgive me if I ask a silly question. I am currently working on a project to research SSD performance, and I have been using a benchmark tool (AS SSD Benchmark) to gather information and analyze it. There are a few categories measured in the benchmark and I'm sad to say I really do not know what they mean, and what would be acceptable results on these tests. Here is an example of the test results: Drive: Samsung SSD PM810 FDE 2 Seq Read: 233.23 MB/s Seq Write: 222.43 MB/s 4K Read: 10.57 MB/s 4K Write: 18.02 MB/s 4K-64Thrd Read: 105.82 MB/s 4K-64Thrd Write: 39.92 MB/s Acc.time Read: 0.343 ms Acc.time Write: 0.211 ms Read Score: 140 Write Score: 80 Total Score: 294 The results I have gathered, from two different SSD models vary so much. Without a thorough understanding of what is being measured in these tests and if a lower/higher score is better, I am quite lost in a sea of data I have spoken to both Samsung and Dell looking for a performance baseline from them, but they are unable to provide it. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
You can compare your SSD's performance with the SSDs we tested @ Tech ARP - Solid State Drive Performance Comparison Guide Rev. 3.1 The faster the read and write speeds are, the better, of course. The only performance characteristics you want LOWER would be Acc.time Read and Acc.time Write.
