Just gave my brother my 3Com OfficeConnect WiFi router. So I have to buy a new WiFi router now. Any suggestions for a good WiFi router? Right now, all my devices are only 802.11b-compliant but eventually I want to upgrade to 802.11g. So, I think I will just go straight for a 802.11g WiFi router.
Get a G of course. But the problem is the BenQ is only 802.11b. Duh... but a WiFi G card is pretty cheap nowadays. either that or we just get the new proset and swap the mini PCI card la
Been using Netgear's WGR 614 for quite sometimes, its good, but it doesn't have as much configuration and settings in the admin panel to play with compared to, say, DLink, I guess they want to make it simple for not so tech-savvy people.
I think most of the routers are pretty much the same nowadays. LinkSys is probably a good buy since they are the same company as cisco now. Dlink has improved, so i heard and well, as long as you don't need the router to be able to do funky network configurations, it's all pretty much the same.
the linksys, g version seems to be very popular. Rumor has it that it can be cracked to boost the performance. Also, it has hack firmware to enable the ip6 .
soli, have to say Linksys SUX! got it in my office, and my fren using it, both of us oso not happy with that junk! problem 1. not stable, always DC, confirm not stimix problem 2. slow down the conection so far we got this problem.... so, dun go for linksys, say yes to D-Link!
I'm also interested in one for home usage. We only need a wireless router right? How much would it cost nowdays? And I see only linksys and Dlink is recommended.. hmm..
LINKSYS! my boss got his linksys router in singapore for around $80. he liked it so much that he's gonna buy another one.
