Making rice dumplings!

    Ahhh.. Well, it's no trouble if you are making A LOT and the whole family helps. :mrgreen:

    Actually, that's what's so fun about it... The whole family coming together to do it. :thumb:

    Yup! It is... It gets pretty hard for everyone to get together, cause work gets in the way. But I try to make it if I can. :thumb: :thumb:

    I miss it...used to eat nonya zhang quite often :drool:

    Ahh.. Never really liked nonya zhang.. :haha: :haha:

    I prefer kee zhang or bak zhang. :thumb: :thumb:

    Oh, for those who have not tried them yet, kee zhang (lye dumpling) are very small dumplings made from pure glutinous rice, with no filling. We dip them in sweet sauce or even better, kaya! SUPERB! :thumb: :thumb:

    Actually, if you freeze them, they last a REALLY long time!! :haha: :haha:

    We here use pandan leaf to make zhang..

    btw, i thought nyonya zhang=kee zhang?? Never had that before..

    Eh, no ah.. nonya zhang is tee (sweet) zhang. It has a sweet minced meat filling what. :think:

    Kee zhang is the small, empty zhangs. :think:
