Hey guys, I know this probably has been asked 39478329 times. but all threads I've searched talk about a good mobo for overclocking or SLI or something else, so here goes. Can anyone recommend me a good mobo for a Core 2 Duo E6320? I'm not going to overclock, i'm not going to use SLI, I just want a cheap (< $100) but good mobo that supports C2D, dual channel DDR2 667 ram, SATA 3.0 and PCI-E 16x. There are so many option I don't even know which one to choose, I've been looking at "GIGABYTE DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express" but it's $120 and people say it's good for overclocking, which I don't even care about. Any help is appreciated
if u r not into overclocking any mobo would do just fine how bout biostar t965? its cheap so its value for money
You might wanna go for P35-DS3 instead, it's a newer chipset, and it's supposed to be slightly faster. If it's not that much more expensive, I would go for this instead.
Ah that mobo is too expensive, it's like $139 at newegg. This is the system i'm going to get: Intel C2D E6320 MSI 945P Neo5-F LGA 775 Intel 945P SUPER TALENT 1GB DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Western Digital 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB PCI Express x16 What do you guys think? i was going to get dual channel rams but meh, not that much difference in performance.
yeah, i already have 1 gig on the computer that I'm using, so i'll have 2 i wish i could get a better mobo. but this one will have to do.
LMAO! Dump everything on the 8800GTS and the rest are crap... no offense. Only 1GB RAM, outdated motherboard.
thought zico say he hav 2 sticko ram dump msi get the biostar 965..well at least 965 is newer than 945 haha
indeed. few boards come in mind. Biostar Tforce 965 (P, PT.....whatever) Gigabyte P965 DS3 Gigabyte P965 S3 not sure about P35 boards at present.
@powerslide: i have a 500W psu at the computer that i'm currently using, so i'm fine with that. @Chai i already have 1 gig of ram on the pc i'm using, so i'll have two on the new one. @SkylineRemix: i'm not going to use SLI so there's no point in getting a mobo with that feature. well, was checking out the mobos you guys suggested and i'm down to these two: BIOSTAR TForce TP35D2-A7 LGA 775 Intel P35 GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express tough choice, any advices? i guess i'll go with gigabyte since i never heard of biostar before.
go for the biostar p35..biostar name are emerging now..they make cheap and superb overclocking board..and p35 are new chipset than the 965
biostar P35 doesn't overclock very well. at least the DDR3 version. there is a bug in the BIOS and my sample stuck at 360MHz the P965 board is a safer choice.
I'll still stick with the 965 chipset board. Works better. The P35 is quite new, so I'll give it some time for newer revisions.
