Indeed. Send an orthopedic surgeon to do cellular studies. Nice.

If you're gonna waste 25 mill (USD folks) at least send a micro biologist to do that crap.

I joked with my friend, at least the joints of the astronauts will be well taken care of... :p

And he's noted as a "space flight participant". *cough* tourist *cough*

Malaysia's space program involves wasting tax payer money on buying a ticket with another country that needs something to fund its space program (I guess anyone will do). No offense to the Russians. :p

And no, its not YOU LMAO!

Well, among his most important space task is to bring some Malaysian food to space.

    Can you say ... wow?

I didn't even bother turning to Astro Channel 588 for the launch or any of the show. Not that I'm not a loyal Malaysian, but what does this prove?

We do not have the capability to even design or build a satellite, much less go to space on our own. Once this trip is over, it's over. Did they think that they would now be able to launch their own shuttles and rockets???

I envy him but I think this is yet another waste of our money. We will be known as the first country to send up a space tourist using public funds.

Hee hee... that's why I lol-ed too hard upon reading all these. No need to make it so big lah... it's just a trip right? Not sure whether are they angkasawan (astronaut), or they are just space tourists who got their free tickets from the purchase of jet-fighters.

And bringing food up there sounds weird... well, if I bring a few hot satay sticks there will the sticks still taste good or hot?? :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

My TV1 reception is a little bit off - cause the antenna is half-way broken. Anyway, still seen the interviews, they are praising the launch very nicely, but they are doing it a little overboard. :haha:

Well, I thought they didn't use the money, because the air-ticket is free? :D

Well, for all the money they are spending on him... I hope they let him do something useful.. even if it's just spinning a top or handing out Malaysian food. :haha:

Nothing is "free" in this world. We had to buy their fighter jets to get this "free" trip for our "spaceflight participant".

Strange, how could a seriously overclocked PC fare in the zero-gravity arena? That one makes me think... :haha:

Oh my goodness, please don't tell me that they want to buy all the mini-jet planes so that they want to go to space?? :haha:

I don't think gravity would make a difference to the solid-state components. But the increased radiation will probably cause errors.

If you read my earlier post from above, foreign news agencies reported the ticket cost 25 mill. That was with a discount of malaysia buying russian made fighters.

They sent a so called Orthopedic Surgeon to conduct cellular tests and test a vaccine for HIV (In SPACE?!). *cough* farce *cough*

But yea, send a joint specialist to conduct cellular tests. I'm sure micro biologists the world over are happy with that. Now if they meant cellular as in cell phones, then they sent the right man for the job. :haha:

Ha ha... they have sent a wrong man in the wrong place and in the wrong time.

And of course, they even went overboard during the TV1 interview, which I don't really want to go into details... :haha:

Just to share, one perspective from a partner at work was although this was a waste of money, it gives the malaysian children a re-newed ambition of becoming an astronaut....
    what do you think?

The renewed ambition is one strong point - it'll help very much. Floating in the space will give a lot of insight about many stuff currently in space.

But not the sight seeing trip. They are just having a holiday there, that's all. It's like some small documentary there.

And, also, the interviews are really overboard. That person talks on and on and on about being 'head-to-head' with the other very developed nations. and the other stuff too, and he went off topic later... :haha:
