Well, as of today - 12.05.2008 - all of what Ageia represented (websites) is offline / shutdown / killed! Over 300 users were registered and I'm kinda sad I didn't had the chance to save one last image with the forum and devsupport. R.I.P. It was a a short nice ride!
Yup, more like that. The green X sucks big time. The Red & Blue combination was far more pleasant to the eye than that ugly green logo.
If the ideea was that bad then why nvidia bothered to acquire Ageia in the first place? And second, it's all about physics. It wasn't Ageias fault that game makers started so late do develop games using their technology. Still the number was quite big but only a few were true PhysX enabled. The ideea is more than good, I only hope that nvidia will do something good and not like they did with 3dfx.
Physics acceleration would undoubtably be a key feature in future games. I think it's just the idea of buying a dedicated card for physics acceleration in games that doomed AGEIA. I always thought AGEIA would have to team up with a GPU company to survive. IMHO, it was really a matter of time before NVIDIA bought up AGEIA.
