Since uTorrent is owned by Bittorrent which is associated (or owned, I don't remember) by MPAA, people think that uTorrent now has malicious codes that report to the FBI if you pirate. But, as far as I know, this has not been proven. It is only a rumour.

    isn't utorrent open source?

if it is you can look into the code or compile it yourself.

but i've been using utorrent for a long time and never had any problems, probably the best client out there.

Hmm.. So it looks like we should stick to the older versions of uTorrent. I dislike the idea of MPAA poking their noses into BT clients.

IMO for the average user BT clients won't be that much different as for functionality. The user interface is what does it for me.

Yes it is Bitorrent always had an issue with starting and seeders. I dropped it 5 years ago. Had no idea about the other spyware and crap although looking around might need some more proof on that too

They don't throttle your client, they throttle the traffic.

Any clients will give the same speed with the same settings if you ask me. The only difference is the GUI.

Hmm,maybe your right but somehow the current client i'm using gives me much better speed for some reason compare to the rest :/

Enabling encryption in the client might help reduce or eliminate throttling though.

that's because every client comes with different settings like global connections and connections per peer. etc etc.

there's no way for a ISP to thottle the client, only your traffic.

Yeah but they can target P2P networks by bandwidth shaping, essentially restricting traffic for P2P networks, including Bittorrent.

Yeah, that's what's been going on with Bell in Canada lately.
