Hey guys, i was wondering..any difference between those high end LCD panels versus the HD tv? I tried gaming on my family 32" LCD tv and i find it quite clear..So i was thinking to get another 32" lcd as my primary display and was wondering is there any difference with those LCD monitor? since getting a good LCD monitor is around 1.3k and above =/...I was thinking why don't get a HDTV since it's able to output the same quality too..Ooh, forgot to mention I'm using HDMI output. (+ the hdtv is HD ready but it's able to output 1920x1080 o_O)..

Are those 32" Full HD? If yes, then I think it's not bad for normal PC use. I don't think you can buy SIPS panels anymore except for Dell's 30", or the Apple Displays.

Just don't stare too close when you use it as PC monitor .. you wont be able to see one end of the screen to the other..

nothing wrong with using your a living room's HDTV as ur PC display. but i personally can't stand staring at it for 12 hrs a day. i will probably get blind if i do for a week..

I think the HDTVs use a more powerful backlight. Even if you do not go blind... it will probably suck up more power than a regular LCD monitor.

Nope. The 1 downstairs is HD ready and yet it can output till 1920x1080..thats why i'm struggling between HD ready and Full HD. Well, i don't think i be viewing it near since it will be on the wall XD

What do you intend to use it for? Watch movies? Surf the Net?

Surfing the net on TV might not be a good idea.

Nothing wrong with HDTV if your main priority is gaming/movies. Otherwise it's a bad idea IMO.

That's exactly the reason why I won't get a HDTV. LCD monitor is cheaper, higher res, on a smaller screen, not meant for living room.

Hmm, well..for doing daily stuff..gaming, movies...Good LCD monitor ain't cheap IMO =/ for text related stuff, so far not having problems with viewing fonts on a 32 inch.
