Can we find a portable gas stove for this time? And heat up the charcoal first. It's quite stupid to spend 1 hour or more every year wasted.

It's quite slow If you use gas stove, it'll be done really fast. My father always do this when my family had BBQs at home. I'll bring my portable gas stove over. Oh yeah, do prepare a small piece netting to put on the gas stove
Yeah... firestarters suck la. I was wondering why you guys use firestarters all this while. Frankly, I haven't seen one used until the BBQ. Can't blame me, we used dry wood and leaves during 'the old days'. For family BBQ, we always heat the charcoal at the stove first before moving it over to the pit. No need to sweat it all over and Elton can eat in peace this time (if he attends). Smart huh?
Put a few lighters spread out in the charcoal... then light up a few firestarters and throw them in there...

What wrong with firestarter? Where I come from, we use dry leaves and sticks, and if we are lucky we use dried rubber (rubber shit called locally), firestarter is a luxury. Gas stove? is for tourist...(no pun intended)
