IMO, if u really need professional software acceleration and don't have much money, an entry-level quadrofx 370 should be a good choice, around $120, can provide much stronger professional opengl performance than a softmode gf7/8 series, include support for 3ds max/autocad performance driver qfx370 viewperf10 result: 3dsmax:25.12 catia:33 ensight:17.87 maya:58.01 proe:27.63 sw:37.48 tcvis:9.34 ugnx:9.99 test env: MB: Intel X38 Express CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33GHz 4MB/1333MHz FSB RAM: 2GB DDR2 800 ECC Dual Channel HD: Seagete 7200.10 160GB SATA
also, add a true qfx3700(8800gt's professional version) viewperf10 result for reference: 3dsmax 52.48 catia 61.27 ensight 51.37 maya 201.19 proe 59.44 sw 124.15 tcvis 26.67 ugnx 28.39 test env: MB: Intel P45 Express CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @3.4GHz 12MB/1600MHz FSB RAM: 8GB DDR2 800 NON-ECC Dual Channel HD: WD Black 1TB SATA
Hi Joshua, You are right. The benchmark figures of real Quadros are much faster than the soft-modded ones. I guess it's only useful for those who have already purchased the GeForce and want "free" speed boosts.
I think is not possible boost all nvidias card, in opengl mode, by soft mod, after g80! In G92 cards the nvstrap tab is not available in riva tuner.
gtx 260 now leave the nvidia quadro with the g200 chip (fx4800) is the same that the gtx 260 now is possible the softmod?
Radeon mod better results Viewperf 10.0 with Radeon 2900XT mod 3dsmax-04 34.07 catia-32.14 ensight-03 50.14 maya-02 222.25 proe-04 29.36 sw-01 66.05 tcvis-01 26.00 ugnx-01 52.26
i will look around for the results prior to mod. there was a huge difference. Modding the Radeon is a bit tricker. I posted a walkthrough after finally got it: forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php put www. before it since " i have to post 5 times before putting a url or 3 times before posting an image.
i looked it was 25 frames per second before mod and 57 frames per second after futuremark 06 score 12,000 without mod
G92 Hi, I keep seeing hanging questions on this thread concerning G92 boards. Can you please advise whether or not it is a hopeless quest to softmod this board? I've read the entire thread and there is no definitive reply. I'm running SolidWorks 2009, which denies a large section of functionality if you don't have a Quaddro, and the benchmarks of previous softmods for this application are unbelievably good. Thanks for this interesting thread.
Yes, but in the nvdisp file Nvidia Quadro FX4600 has device ID= 019E which is different from 0193. (the first part, 10DE, ientifies the Nvidia vendor so it's the same for all Gef and Quadro cards). Can you please clarify a bit? Thanks! Gio'
So far, I don't think anyone has tried softmodding the G92 yet, only the G80. We are also interested to know if it's workable. Why don't you give it a try? It is just a soft mod anyway - you can uninstall / disable it if it fails.
Adrian they ask same questions but in different order Rivatuner dose not support some options on g92 so changing regular g92 to quadro is a pain in the ass (sorry but it is truth) Giokat lets say that i am manufacturer and that i am making two "different" cards with same core and i need to name them hmmm lets say one core will be named no1 and other no2 so device id will be something like this ID= no1 and ID= no2 do you get a point ???
Can someone with a GTX260 or higher please try the softmod and get back to us? Ive seen like 3 people in this thread mention they have one and then never bothered to tell us about it.
The GTX295 is technically two 260's in SLI, which can be disabled to have two separate 260's, can anyone find out if the chip code changes to reflect this, so that it can be modded into a quadro 4600?
