Ahh.. I just upgraded the only Win XP installation to Windows 7... :wall: :wall:

Are you getting the same error message "Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot Proceed"? Or it just won't connect to the Internet?

But if I recall my Win XP... you should try manually setting the WiFi settings.

Select the WiFi connection and make sure you set the DNS servers properly. Your ISP should provide you with at least two DNS servers to use.

If that doesn't work, try disabling DHCP for this connection. Manually set the IP address of the computer and set the Default gateway to the IP address of the WiFi router. The Subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0.

Yeah I get the same errror message. But the thing is I'm just trying to use cat-5 cable from the wireless router/switch. I even tried connecting directly to the cable modem... no differance.

You also have an exclamation mark next to the network interface card in Device Manager?

Hmm.. In that case, have you tried updating the driver?

That's kinda what I'm thinking, Though it says it is working fine in device manager. Where to find driver? I wonder if it is on his "sony" disk if he even has it?

I wouldn't bother with the CD drivers.

What's the model of the NIC?

    I'm not sure.

    Device manager says,

    Manufacture, Microsoft

Texas Insterments OHCI compliant IEEE 1

Is that enough? How else to tell?
