x264 HD Benchmark 3.16 The new x264 HD Benchmark 3.0 is here! This is the improved version of the x264 HD Benchmark 2.0 benchmark which has become a standard CPU benchmark for Tech ARP as well as many other hardware enthusiasts. The new x264 HD Benchmark 3.0 ups the ante by using the latest r1342 x264 encoder as well as other changes under the hood. This makes the x264 HD Benchmark 3.0 the new best tool for testing the full capabilities of modern multi-core processors. Do note that due to the changes, the results from x264 HD Benchmark 3.0 are NOT comparable with results from older versions of the benchmark. i am open to any suggentions as to how i can get the same results as shambler, however, i don't believe that either of our results are wrong. i think that his core speed is inaccurately displayed. take a look at the difference between my and shambler's core temps. at stock settings of 3.2GHz, i'm running at 46C while shambler is at 57C? even when i oc'd my cpu to 3.9GHz i was still running at 56C. this seems slightly strange to me but a good cooling system could account for this. though on your chart of pass 1, it shows the AMD 965 @3.7GHz with a score of 77.49; a slightly superior processor with a higher cpu speed but 15fps lower than shambler's 955 @3.2GHz? pass 2 and the average render speed charts also show similar discrepencies between shambler's results and other similar cpu's all the other amd 955, 965 chips i've seen in this thread would seem to agree that shambler's fps and core temps are much more in line with a highly overclocked cpu. i'm geussing shambler's chip is running at over 4GHz but didn't get displayed right in cpu-z. i hope i haven't misinterpretted the data and made an ass of myself. just trying to figure out what's going on.
