Thanx, nice initiative this benchmark! I find it a little bit strange that my encoding speed is so much faster than the [email protected] ghz. I've got relativly fast ram and a nice mainboard, but more than 15 % gain over the [email protected] with an [email protected] ghz is strange(?). I retested the last [email protected] Ghz on SSD and HDD, same results.

You are right. It was a typo. It should be 6-core. Thanks! BTW, your results are pretty good. I received the results of another Core i7-980X at 4.15 GHz but it was slightly below your score - 105.58 fps (Pass 1) and 55.02 (Pass 2). As for the Xeon X5680's poorer showing in Pass 2, I suppose it could be due to the ECC RAM used. Pass 2 performance seems to be heavily dependent on memory bandwidth. Speaking of memory, what speeds were you running your memory modules at those CPU clock speeds you tested? Thanks!
