I never came close to experiencing any disaster like that, but from the devastation I've seen, man... I wouldn't want to be caught in that! Hang in there, Alabamians!!
Good to know Ishtim's ok. But man, I really can't imagine what it's like to face such a disaster... o.o
If you have a few minutes, this is an incredible write up from a guy that was in the Tuscaloosa tornado... WOW!!! Tuscaloosa tornado experience shared in harrowing account by University of Alabama student | al.com
WHOAH! That is crazy! I've heard about the ears popping/bleeding. I've never been in an actual tornado but I did see funnel clounds half a mile away from where I was growing up back in Indiana (sky turned green, trees were slanted like crazy under the wind). It never touched down but that already scared the crap out of me. There were a few close calls when I lived in Kansas as well.
Wow! That was an incredible experience! And I really like his writing style. It's funny and so honest :
I finally cound a collection of photos on the web that is worthy of sharing. FWIW, here's what an EF-5 tornado does: Photos & Pictures | Photos from The Huntsville Times - al.com
Still amazes me what they can do, even after seeing two up close and personal with the Hesston and Andover tornadoes and helping out with the Greensburg tornado, here in Kansas.
