WD Sata 3 terabyte hard drive advice.

    i think Asus have a utility called disk unlocker, even win XP can use 3tb on their MB.

    Well I'm interested of getting the 3TB for my NAS, seems the documentation says it can, but I'm a bit skeptical as my NAS is more than 2 yrs old and it's kinda expensive to get one to try out. :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

    Aiyaya...should have mentioned earlier. I'm using an Asus P55 motherboard... Oh well. I think the WD 2TB Green is a very suitable drive for my use. And it's 4 platter design.

    It is not advisable to try on NAS especially when it is old. Look for compatibility chart on your NAS website. As NAS is mostly build around embedded linux, make sure you are skill enough on open source to find solution to support large cap drive...
