Space Invaders Sprites?

Is it all right to use the Space Invaders' sprites on a drawing, or on a T-shirt, for example?

I made a little hand-held game, as a test which have those little sprites just for test, and might put it in the Youtube.

The thing is, I read some of the posts in some other forums and claimed that these sprites are copyrighted.

Anyone have any ideas about the copyright of these sprites?

Hmm, I'm not selling anything - just demonstrating the game only with the sprite.

 

The generic little pixelated monsters. So far I only had replicated one of the monsters, which is a 20-point type, on the Graphics LCD. Only one frame of it is replicated since I had to test the system.

The Atari 2600 ones are a little bit too big for the LCD, so I chose the arcade version instead since the majority of it uses 11x8 sprites.

 

As long as you're not planning to "release" it (paid or otherwise), I won't worry about it at all.
