    Dashken Administrator!

Hmm.. that's definitely funny. Can you click the Start button, type in "cmd" (without the quote), then click the cmd.exe. Do you see the "Administrator" at the command prompt window title (as attached image)? If you can, then I really don't know what's the cause already.

Anyway, can you attach the text file generated from cpuz here, so that we can grab it with the codes? :)

Just as a comparison with post 14:
    http://forums.techarp.com/reviews-articles/26957-x264-hd-benchmark-5-0-a-2.html#post368840

It seems that the pre-release version of Windows 8 64 bit has a more efficient scheduler, because it is consistently faster than Windows 7 64 bit.

I do in fact see "Administrator" on the command line when I open it from Run...

I think I may have figured out the source of the problem, however. I ran the test again, and noticed that when I hit the enter button a message pops up. It says "[File name] Cannot find this file. Please verify that the correct path and file name are given."

The actual path is long... not sure if that could be the problem. Anyway, the path it lists seems to be correct (I wrote [File Name] where it lists the correct path). I'm going to try it in as simple a path as I can come up with and see if it works from there.

  9. Dashken

    Dashken Administrator!

Adrian, did this version use the line that I corrected (with the quotes)?

But JoeH, I don't think that's the issue here. You can still find the *.rtf file in the test folder. It just failed to copy over to the root folder. Your case is indeed funny, the "unable to get cpuz to generate the system_details.txt file".

It seems to be. I'll double-check the codes but I remember testing it on two systems before archiving and uploading it.

JoeH, I think we found out what's wrong with the codes already.

OK, great. If you want me to test the new version I'd be glad to.

    Notes:
    TMPIN2 is the chipset-temperature
THRM and CPU are actually the same. Core temperature is actually about 13°C higher.
Core temperature actually reached a max of 55°C during the encoding process.

    Fan Configuration:
    * Standard 70mm CPU fan reached about 2100 RPM
    * 92mm outtake rear fan reached about 1000 RPM
    * 120mm outtake PSU fan reached about 700 RPM
